On October 3, Facebook announced the launch of Marketplace, a platform for users to buy and sell items directly through Facebook’s mobile app. According to Facebook, about 450 million of 1.7 billion users, visit buy-and-sell groups every month. So it only made sense to offer them a better shopping experience.

How it Works?

To visit the Marketplace Tap on the shop Icon at the bottom of the Facebook app and start exploring.

Marketplace opens with photos that nearby people have listed for sale. Browse through the pictures on the basis of category, location and price. When you find something interesting tap on the image to see more details from the seller. You can also save the item in your wishlist to quickly find it later.

If you like something you can quickly send message to the seller and make an offer. From that point on the seller can work out the details for the sale. However, users are having to work out deliveries by using furniture courier companies right now because Facebook does not facilitate the payment or delivery of items in Marketplace.
